yeah, the freaking check engine light came back on.
I have a new catalytic converter, so I KNOW it’s not it, I’ve had it for a few months and it’s been fine.
And now after I got a new O2 sensor, I really don’t know what to do.
Scanning still shows the same code.

At this point, my diagnosis is that my celica is haunted.
So if you know a good exorcist, please let me know.

The first sensor…
yes, it was reset, I waited twice for it to show me the same code before I replaced the sensor, and then it came back on. my car only has 2 sensors. My mechanic replaced the bank1 sensor, he also said that it looks like my celica is burning a bit too much gas and the smoke from the exaust is really black…
so it has to be SOMETHING with that sensor not converting the air right…

as I said before, I have a new cat conv (since last december), so the sensor on bank 2 should be fine…

I hate going to dealerships. It’s probably a stupid thing and they will charge me a lot of money for it.
That’s why I’m asking here, maybe someone had that problem and I could get some ideas…
Toyota dealership is the LAST ONE on my list. Of course I will do it, but only after I check all the other options….

last year I had the check engine light (for the converter then) and I went to Toyota dealership and just to scan it and give me the code they charged me over 100 bucks.
I mean WTF?

so that’s why I will do ANYTHING not to go there again…
oh and I always make sure the gas cap thing is thight, every time I put gas in it, I make sure it clicks at least 3-5 times.

the cat conv I got it’s “after market”, new, but not made by toyota.

I wish they still made celicas, I would buy a new one. I don’t like any other cars. Except for ferraris and such lol

so you still have your “check engine” light on?
I don’t want to go to a dealership and pay them 100 bucks for nothing…

it’s so frustrating…
